I finally managed to acquire my domain transfer authorization codes and transferred all gTLD domains to a new provider. I still need to find a DENIC accredited hosting provider that allows me to use wildcard CNAME entries, though. If anyone knows one, let me know. I need to move those DE domains, too.

Anonymity and Phones

In my opinion, anonymity is a really great thing. It really is. You can read stuffs on the net for free and without the need of providing your identity. That’s great. Really. There is nothing better than being anonymous, I guess. It’s somewhat like an ability to hide from your surroundings. Some power you can use to achieve something without the consent of others. However embarrassing or obnoxious it might be you’re doing, noone knows, and thus noone ever cares. It’s cool, really. And I am in no way against anonymity, really, because even I like to be anonymous sometimes. But you know, sometimes…

However great anonymity might be, I hate it for being possibly abused by people, not using it in good will.
For example, we have anonymity options for our phones. We can hide our dial number and still call people. Even people we don’t know at all, for doing a so called prank call. You know, I hate prank calls. It’s so damn annoying, I can’t even stand it. As you probably know, there’s a phone number, here on this website for people to call, written in my profile. It is there for enabling people to cantact me. It is not there for people to call me in order to record annoying noises, especially not when they are supressing their own dial number. However sad it is, for those foreign people with providers that do not support sending their phone number, I had to turn it into a message box redirect. Leave an intelligent, and especially an understandable, message and I might get back at you in a few days.

However sad it is, and however much I like anonymity in networks, which includes cellular networks and such, in event of the actions people have taken, I cannot allow your anonymity anymore. I had to shut down another possibility of contacting and reaching me.
If you want to do a prank call, submit your number, so I can do the legal stuff, without having to ask the network providers in the legal process for the required information, because that’s hell expensive and risky.

Spring, yay!

It’s finally spring again.
Not that special, though. The sun isn’t shining and it’s still cold outside.
That’s sad, I wonder for what there’s a window in this room I’m sitting right now, if the sun just won’t shine through it, to brighten my day.

Happy birthday to me, or… triskaidekaphobia extreme. Whatever you like best.

I was born today, nineteen years ago, at 3:13 AM GMT +1 (or at least that was what I was told). The number thirteen is a number proclaiming to be causing bad luck. Hmm if that’s really true, I guess I’d be screwed… like nothing.

I think for me, it’s rather my lucky number, even though, my birthday is and has always been a completely ordinary day.

Facebook and inviting ICQ contacts

There must be some bug in the Facebook Invite system. I am being told by several people I have invited them to Facebook. But I haven’t. I just wanted to invite one person, some pal from Japan, and somehow I have a problem now. I hope the guys over there, are going to check the AOL Screenname system. As the system treats ICQ numbers as screennames, and all screennames beginning with a number are treated as ICQ numbers internally. Facebook allows the usage of ICQ numbers to invite your contacts, and just simply treats them as screennames. That’s not good, if Facebook has a bug with properly sending those invites. And I specifically did not check the invite all contacts option.

I am sorry for bothering you with those messages, and I hope they are going to do something about those messages and the sent invite links. It bugs me a little, that those links now allow around 700 people to view my profile by just signing up.

I want my privacy back.

Hmm, whatever… I think I’ve got to live with that now.

Edit: I figured now, that they can’t view my profile by just signing up. Phew.

And I didn’t invite everyone… maybe because it was too many of them.

But still, I think I bothered some people with this.

Logic is infinite. The more complex it is, the longer you need to get to identify the next inherent component.

There are people looking like kids, there are people being kids and there are people acting like kids. Neither of them nessecarily kids.

There are certain things about the past. One thing is, we want to discover it, in order to gain back what we lost. The other thing is, we struggle from it, because we lost something, we cannot gain back.

In order to be fearless, you must find something to fear the most. Something you fear so much, that everything else is nothing against it. And then, you need to face the other things and master your fear thereof.

I wanted to come up with 100, but that’s been too hard. My IM history is long, but searching it is kind of a hassle.

I don’t harrass people, but it’s quite common these days as it seems. I know people don’t like me that much after they did something, I obviously didn’t like. In most cases what they did, whenever just in the slightest kind, was illegal and I initiated legal actions, or am going to, they like me even less. And such people keep bugging me. I am as always blocking those people, but sadly those instant messenger blocklists reach their limits…

I am always a bit amused when people add me, people like this one:

Merry X-mas to all of you.

For me christmas has never been really special, though. There aren’t any special days in my life (speaking of good days). It’s like every day else, I’m lurking around over here, doing stuff and whatnot, like I’d do on every ordinary day aswell. It’s not like I am going to complain about it, it’s not worth doing so, and it can’t be helped either.

So I might share a wish with all of you reading this. Just the wish for a better world.

Might the days get better and happy holidays.

The right way?

A man is driving on the highway at night. He turns on the radio, and hears an announcer warn people that somebody on that highway is driving against traffic. The man shrugs, turns off the radio, and grumbles: “Somebody? There’s hundreds of them.”

This made me think. Sometimes I ask myself, am I going the wrong way, or is it all the others? Sometimes I don’t know about the things supposed to be right or wrong. Well, as far as I know there isn’t right nor wrong, but that doesn’t count. All the others think, as in their belief, there ARE things which are wrong, or maybe even the right thing to do. Once again, I don’t care, just being conservatively monitoring it, and copying their behavior. It might be bad however…

What’s right anyway… it’s just one’s point of view which might cast the answer. For one side it’s right, while the other side thinks it’s wrong… good and evil, light and dark, perfectly in harmony they shall fight each other for all times until their end.

There are some people, green people to be exactly, which don’t properly think about consequences of some things they issue others to do. Over here they want to turn off the light from 8:00PM to 8:00PM (GMT +1) which could cause severe damage due to a power surge, when everyone is going to turn their electronic devices and lights back on, cause the power sources can’t handle the instant request of electricity.

Some people even send out IM messages like:

Get sued! Really! If it comes to my attention this will cause my electricity to vanish, you get a problem. Not only me.

Anti-Spam filters are great

I am receiving ~400 emails a day, which are NOT spam. They are newsletters, mailing lists and groups. A lot of stuff though. And I really need to say thanks to my mailserver and the Spam lists like Spamhaus, cause things could be even worse, like the little quote from the server log will show:

Blogging for what?

Ok, wait, this is a blog, right? But, did you know… I am putting nothing on here.
No that’s a lie… at least this is something. So what to blog about? Well, I couldn’t figure, I think I’ll just write some crap in here… but wait… checking Google gave too many results on crap blogs… hmmm…

So, now, what am I blogging here for? Well, I’d say, I’m wasting time, because I have, at least for the moment, got nothing better to do…
So what will be here? I think, after getting a comment from someone called Jason (do I happen to know you?), I’ll really blog about myself, my point of view of the world, and such things. I checked up some blogs of other people to see what they are writing about, but aparently there wasn’t anything which would really fit for me.
So my blog will not be:

Some information and news portal (I don’t read and watch news… so why writing them?)
A reference for images (I have a gallery…)
A diary (privacy, folks, privacy)
A library (wonder why some people do…)
A download portal (traffic is too expensive)
A collaboration (yeah, just me )
Genre focused (mix it )
Everything else I forgot (not quite, though)

Maybe it’ll be a bit funny to read things here, but also it will require to be intelligent at some point. Stay tuned, days will rock.

Summer temperatures?

I discovered, that my notebook’s memory just became too warm (more than 52 °C causes it to respond false data and due to that, my operating system crashes). I hope I can work with that, as long as I can cool it, to keep it below these temperatures.
Well anyway, I think I need to save up some money for a new one. This old thing is already seven years old, and I am still using it for nowadays business software. Games won’t run since 2002, though (luckily I am no gamer).

Defective memory in my notebook

For about an hour by now, my notebook is no longer booting properly, or rather hanging up shortly after, because of a defective memory unit. Due to that, I wrote an email to the vendor to send me a new one.
Until I receive my new memory bank, I cannot use my Notebook, because 64MB of main memory (this amount is fixed on the mainboard of that thing) is not enough to run Windows XP as I want it.

As long as this takes, I cannot, however sad that is, properly use the machine.
