However it’s a bit strange noone noticed.

And it’s also strange, that ICQ planned to remove the older versions of ICQ2Go!, which up until now hasn’t happened. It’s better this way with keeping the old stuff up, cause they still work. However, the Java version does not well tie with the new JAVA version (the one from sun, cause the IBM one only works on IBM machines) and spits out an error (which doesn’t seem to prevent it from working though).

There are ISPs that make mistakes. Mistakes like not restricting your bandwidth. I thought this was great, at least for me, because I could use my internet connection for various things. For example this website, with this blog you’re currently looking at, is hosted at my home. But you know, they fixed that bandwidth issue. Now, I don’t get the rest of my towns speed anymore. It was like downloading files at LAN speed. Or, running a server here was fine, too. So if any of my sites appears slow now… it’s probably my bandwidth limit that’s now properly applied. Google crawls are now giving my site the rest…

It does not support either receiving nor sending of HTML formatted messages (even if the flash based display engine displays italic and bold formatted text as such when someone enters the HTML tags for it) as the new clients such as AIM6 and ICQ6 use them for colorizing and formatting the text. At least bold and italics could be supported, colors would be nice.
Also it has no graphical emoticons which is a bit sad. Smaller versions of the ICQ6 emoticon gallery would fit great in that interface, really.

The status updater which can be found in that text bar right next to the status selector which features Online and Away status only, (which could at least get an Invisible mode to it, right?) does not seem to send the status to the remote clients, as it’s likely if the user signed on to ICQ2Go! shows up offline, but it could also update the serverside status item, so it’d show up in the contact lists, buddy lists and in the title bar of ICQ/AIM message windows.

But overall it’s a great new improved experience, compared to the ICQ2Go! version before.

Just a subtle way of saying: ‘Don’t take everything too seriously.’

However great anonymity might be, I hate it for being possibly abused by people, not using it in good will.
For example, we have anonymity options for our phones. We can hide our dial number and still call people. Even people we don’t know at all, for doing a so called prank call. You know, I hate prank calls. It’s so damn annoying, I can’t even stand it. As you probably know, there’s a phone number, here on this website for people to call, written in my profile. It is there for enabling people to cantact me. It is not there for people to call me in order to record annoying noises, especially not when they are supressing their own dial number. However sad it is, for those foreign people with providers that do not support sending their phone number, I had to turn it into a message box redirect. Leave an intelligent, and especially an understandable, message and I might get back at you in a few days.

However sad it is, and however much I like anonymity in networks, which includes cellular networks and such, in event of the actions people have taken, I cannot allow your anonymity anymore. I had to shut down another possibility of contacting and reaching me.
If you want to do a prank call, submit your number, so I can do the legal stuff, without having to ask the network providers in the legal process for the required information, because that’s hell expensive and risky.

 What I fear, I cannot tell, but it must be something ordinary. I don’t fear the most weird and dangerous things. It doesn’t matter whatever it is. I just won’t care about it. If someone wants to kill me, even, then I think I’d shortly think, and then, I would accept it, let me kill and die.
No not really. But I wouldn’t care about being dead, though. When you’re dead, nothing is left, I can’t care about it if I don’t exist, right?
Anyways, back to the fear thing. I can’t tell what I fear, because it’d be the most obnoxious kind of weakness I could possibly expose. I just can tell, that there’s nothing more to fear for me anymore. However sad it is, it’s a problem.

Oh, yeah, I asked myself this question a dozen of times. I always came to the same conclusion. No matter what it did, I can’t remember any detail, but still not forget. It’s hard to live in fear.

What happens, that’s fairly simple. You’re trembling. Because you’re cooling down and sweat, no matter how cold that it is. You still sweat and freeze. It’s really hard to live in fear. You always want to be dead, but you don’t want to die. Just go on living no matter what. In pain, forever trembling, deep inside.

I don’t know if I’m really scared, maybe I’m just talking myself into it. And it’s all in the mind, wherever you go, to keep haunting you. But to cease the things you fear is yet, so terribly hard.

At first they start to cry with this desastring high sound. And after a while it goes ‘click….crrrr….clack’ and when it’s got to read data it’s getting even worse. ‘Click, crrr… click, click, click, click’ that’s what it sounds like. It’s really weird, but for some time, you might even get used to that sound. However, you shouldn’t. It’s a bad omen for computers in general, and an even worse for servers. And the bad things, and here I am talking about data loss, tend to happen, when you the least expect it.

And I tell you, I really like to loose my data.

Ok, goodbye, my harddrives, it’s been nice with you. Take all the data with you to the ground of no return. *sniff*

“Icon on Top (On)” - You can use this option with specific users on your Contact List, so that their names always appear on your screen even when the ICQ program is minimized. 

Well, you can achieve a similar result, by using desktop shortcuts.

Therefore simply rightclick on your desktop. A context menu will open, letting you choose from various options. Here, choose New -> Shortcut.

A window will open letting you type in the location for the shortcut to lead to. Type in:

icq:send_message?uin=[your contact's ICQ#]

For the [your contacts ICQ#] you can type in a ICQ number, an AOL screenname, or even a phone number with the full country code.

When you’re done, click Next. You will now be asked for a name for your new shortcut. Here, type in your contacts name on your contact list, or if you want, even something completely different. You should use your contacts nickname, but it really doesn’t matter, it’s your choice, you know.

When you’re done, click Finish.

Now, you’ve got a working shortcut on your desktop, which will, if you double click it, open the message window for the choosen contact. But, you know, this default web shortcut icon is not that good. So now, rightclick on your new shortcut and select Properties. A window will open, letting you choose different things. Here, click on Change Icon, and another window will open. Maybe a confirmation window will pop up, telling you an icon could not be found. Ignore it in this case and simply click OK.

Now we have this window, where we can choose from various default Windows icons, but that’s not really what we want. There is an input bar, where we will type in:

C:\Program Files\ICQ6\services\icqApp\ver1\theme\IMAGES\Common\IcqIcons\WindowsIcons\win-icon-message.png

Then we click on OK.

Note: This will only work with ICQ6. If you haven’t installed ICQ into C:\Program Files\ICQ6\ or if you are using a localized version of Windows XP, this directory might be different. You will have to replace that part of the file path with the path you have choosen while installing ICQ.

ICQ decided to make some advertisement on packaging for toothpaste. They partnered with the pharmacy company CTS, who are going to print the ICQ logos and some cool green on the stuff.

The ICQ toothpaste will certainly help with the instant messaging, especially with the video conversations, as you know, brushing your teeth will reduce that yellow tone in them.

That’s a really cool idea, I kinda like it, let’s see if I can get one of them…

Whenever I have an aquaintance I’m using Google to figure out what’s available. A name’s worth so much. I’m searching all social networking sites. I’m even using other spys to let them search. To figure out anything I can get. All the information I could possibly use, in order to know you any better, in order to do you a favor or even invade you, in order to be a step ahead, in order to surge forward, stepping up a level higher, even higher than ever before, to always beat you. Because I just don’t want to loose.

Maybe that sounds crazy, but you know, in fact I’m lazy. All I want you is to fear me. Just to do, what I want you to. Just to control you. All of you out there, be my puppets in this game, this little game, I just so desperately don’t want to loose. Be my puppets and dance. Be my puppets and let your puppetier watch you. Silently watch you, in oder to control you. Just to control you with those tiny and thin puppet’s strings.

I don’t know how to express myself to others, because they don’t understand a thing. It’s hard to live like that. People always try to understand, well, that’s obviously normal, but in fact they only do, by comparing people, and matching similarities of those people. But it’s important to know, just because some people doing one thing, do the other, too, it does in no way mean, other people doing the same thing, do those other things aswell. People are different. They are all different from each other, even if they’re all the same, the small differences that there are make us unique.

I personally don’t like to fit in this scheme of people, people which simply live through out the day. I want to change things, find new ways for things out there.

And now, there is this geeky part of me, which doesn’t like the real life, and prefers the life on the web. I don’t like to walk around in the city, where all people are watching me. I somehow tend to attract attention, without doing anything. I’m just walking to my local library, and people look at me. I never saw people looking at others, so what is it? Is it good, or is it bad? As I have psychic abilities, I could probably tell, but yet, I can’t. Just because I can’t grab information at will.
So, in order to avoid those people looking at me, which makes me really paranoid, I’ll stay at home, sitting in front of my computer, coding some applications, weeding through forums, and maybe, if I’m bored using some social networks to waste time.

I am a kind person, and I like to help people with their problems. But what I don’t like is to be spammed by people having problems, requesting for help. It’s gotten too far by now, and I chose to block all those people now. As for me, I am most known on the ICQ network, the first social network, ever, and I am receiving too many messages these days. I have choosen to tick this option in ICQ now. It’s called “Accept messages only from contacts”. It’s an option which blocks all incoming messages, that are from people I don’t know, and thus aren’t on my contact list. It’s just sad, that there’s a problem with this, and it doesn’t properly work. But a least, it decreased those neverending messages to a minimal amount. I like this silence.

OK, whatever I wrote there… I don’t even get it anymore…

I need to add, I don’t like to open my history, because it takes ages to load (it took me 23 minutes this time) and the file is of ~21GB size…

You stay up late, and do stuffs you need to do, or maybe things you want to do, and then maybe 2 AM or 3 AM you’re going to sleep. And then when you get up, finally, you take a look at the clock near you and you figure, you slept all day long. Damn it, again so much time was lost. And while you once again try to overcome this limit of time, you always stay up even longer, and longer. And you’re missing a day, and another day, and another…
While doing all this, you get confused, really confused. You’re asking yourself, what time is it now?, what day is it?, and you don’t really seem to know the answer, so you take a look at your calendar, and still, it doesn’t provide you with the information. Luckily there are digital clocks showing the date. All fine, you know the date again, you know what time it is, and you know where you are. But… that doesn’t solve your problem. You’re still asking, what’s going on? It always feels like you’re missing out something important. And then you’re guessing what it might be, but you wont find that part out, because it’s not there where you might be looking.

And this is the time, when you get tired, really tired, and then again you sleep a couple of days, bau yet again, this doesn’t solve the problem either. Just makes it worse, even.

And also, sometimes you can’t sleep all day long, sometimes you can’t get your work done, and sometimes, you can’t solve any of your problems. Sometimes you’re thinking, and on the other hand, there is nothing you seem to be able to figure out.

And you’re tired, really tired, walking through the day, and not even couple cups of coffee seem to help to get you awake. And it’s this thing, this kind of being tired, which kind of blows up your mind, makes you terribly confused, and uable to understand the simplest things. And even then, you can’t seem to get some sleep, sleep you so desperately need, because you don’t seem to have some time off, nor are even able to sleep at all, if you happen to have the time. It’s so horrible, you’re confused, and refuse to let things happen, even if you know they are going to happen anyway. And you don’t notice those things, because you’re so horribly tired. Sleepwalking all day long, neither really sleeping, nor being awake. And it’s driving you nuts, really nuts.

But yet again, you simply resign, and let it be. It happened, and you don’t seem to be able to do something against it.

Happy new year everybody.

For me christmas has never been really special, though. There aren’t any special days in my life (speaking of good days). It’s like every day else, I’m lurking around over here, doing stuff and whatnot, like I’d do on every ordinary day aswell. It’s not like I am going to complain about it, it’s not worth doing so, and it can’t be helped either.

So I might share a wish with all of you reading this. Just the wish for a better world.

Also I am helping people with their problems as far as I can on the ICQ Community Boards and Groups, for free. I am not being paid for this, and I don’t work for ICQ. However, now there are some annoyances I am facing by doing this. People try to send me messages vie the IM network, in order to get passwords for other accounts, which, as they say, have been theirs until their password stopped working and the ICQ password retrieval site doesn’t work for them either. Or their account got suspended.

As for the first thing, even if I wanted, I cannot help you, and ICQ does not provide such kind of customer support anymore. For the latter one, ICQ will only suspend accounts if you have been violating the ICQ Terms of Service, probably by sending spam through the network, no matter how you did. I cannot help you with anything, which would require me to do something to the ICQ users database in general.

I do not work for ICQ, but I can help you with problems like usability issues, installation problems and such, which do not require changes to the server side parts of the ICQ service. Also I won’t help you if you send me a message, nor do I authorize people requesting help, use the ICQ Boards and I will help you, because this way others can find my answers, as well as those of others, later on, if they have the same question.

Please do not send me an ICQ message, if you have an ICQ problem or question. I simply don’t have the time and the nerves to answer and such messages get ignored, I am busy, too. If I think it might be good to drop you a message, I will do so, but I will do it on my own, please accept that.

Along with the new forums, a  redesign and even more changes, the website of ‘AnimeSharp - animating people’ has been updated. Something here and there might not work yet as intended and there are a lot of further changes planned. Go ahead and provide some BETA Feedback, like suggestions, bugs (shouldn’t occur, not too much there yet ) and provide ideas for your project, do something and change things as they are.

This made me think. Sometimes I ask myself, am I going the wrong way, or is it all the others? Sometimes I don’t know about the things supposed to be right or wrong. Well, as far as I know there isn’t right nor wrong, but that doesn’t count. All the others think, as in their belief, there ARE things which are wrong, or maybe even the right thing to do. Once again, I don’t care, just being conservatively monitoring it, and copying their behavior. It might be bad however…

What’s right anyway… it’s just one’s point of view which might cast the answer. For one side it’s right, while the other side thinks it’s wrong… good and evil, light and dark, perfectly in harmony they shall fight each other for all times until their end.

Now there’s your question, why? Well, simple. I am different, different from all the others.
Now, there might be people calling this to be a good thing. Well, I don’t really do.

I’m crazy: I wrote this!

I’m crazy, right?

So, now, what am I blogging here for? Well, I’d say, I’m wasting time, because I have, at least for the moment, got nothing better to do…
So what will be here? I think, after getting a comment from someone called Jason (do I happen to know you?), I’ll really blog about myself, my point of view of the world, and such things. I checked up some blogs of other people to see what they are writing about, but aparently there wasn’t anything which would really fit for me.
So my blog will not be:

• Some information and news portal (I don’t read and watch news… so why writing them?)
• A reference for images (I have a gallery…)
• A diary (privacy, folks, privacy)
• A library (wonder why some people do…)
• A download portal (traffic is too expensive)
• A collaboration (yeah, just me )
• Genre focused  (mix it )
• Everything else I forgot (not quite, though)

Maybe it’ll be a bit funny to read things here, but also it will require to be intelligent at some point. Stay tuned, days will rock.

Let’s aim for the future.

Well, now I started to blog here, but I don’t really know what to write here. Any suggestions? As a blog is for the readers, I’d like you to post a comment to give me some topics to write about.

As long as this takes, I cannot, however sad that is, properly use the machine.
